(More customer reviews)My husband promised our niece that we'd build her a barn for her toy farm animals, but we didn't have enough time or confidence to do it without a kit. Thus, we bought this barn kit after looking at all of the ones available on Amazon. Despite us both being pretty handy, it took us 8 hours to complete. Most of the trim wood included in the kit came as long strips of lumber that had to be measured and cut to size. Nothing was painted. Each shingle had to be glued on by hand. The loft doors were supposed to be able to open and close, but they did not fit into the track grooves. We didn't have enough time to try to file them down to fit, so we glued them on the barn as shutters. The directions were relatively clear, but none of the lumber was labeled. Therefore, it was a challenge figuring out which strips of wood were supposed to be used for the varied trim work. We just couldn't believe we were painting and cutting wood and gluing on shingles with a kit that cost over $90. Even though the end product was beautiful and pretty sturdy, we believe we paid too much. By the way, I only gave the barn 4 stars for durability because the shingles are very fragile and chipped easily. Ultimately, our niece loved this barn, and we hope she gets good use out of it.
